Public READMEs

As an all-remote team, it’s important for us to intentionally make up for the lack of casual opportunities to get to know each other! In the context of being all-remote, there’s a lot of opportunity to misunderstand and writing READMEs acknowledges that. So it’s less about “please live by these rules” and more “please understand where I’m coming from, and I’ll do the same for you.”

The READMEs in the public handbook are of the folks who chose to make their READMEs available to any and all readers. The internal handbook contains READMEs for everyone, including consultants.

Please add your own README when you join up. Think of it as a really verbose name tag!

Content Guidelines

  1. Be personal. We encourage you to highlight the qualities that make you you.

  2. Be specific. Give details that help others understand how you like to take work. For example, lots of people work well alone and in groups, given their comfort criteria are met. So what’s helpful is delineating specifically the methods, cadence, modes, etc. that will help you be most comfortable and productive.

  3. Be inclusive. We’re not all based in the US, so add things like your timezone, when you take your holidays, etc.
